Nadia Shirin Moffett of High Point, North Carolina is an active community and business leader. With a passion to empower people, Nadia has found ways to inspire others in her career and in the community. After graduating from The University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2007 where she attained her Bachelors of Science in Marketing and minor in Information Technology, she began her career in a Leadership Path Program for American Express Company, developing and engaging employees in career and performance development. With the launch of Nadia’s foundation in 2008, Make Me A Queen Foundation, which is a not for profit organization with its mission is to inspire young women to reach their full potential, she was able to make an impact in her community and the lives of many young women.
Nadia’s passion and purpose for her role as Miss North Carolina USA is to inspire young women to reach maximum potential in their lives. Her plan is to expand the Make Me A Queen Foundation program to women across the state of North Carolina, driving empowerment, inspiration and growth among young women. She looks forward to continuing her passion for women’s empowerment through her advocacy of Breast and Ovarian Cancer research throughout the state of North Carolina.
Nadia enjoys running 5K and 10K races, writing and reciting poetry, public Speaking and working with youth. She is currently the Vice President of Public Relations for Toastmasters International at American Express, and often competes in public speaking competitions. Nadia is an active supporter and volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement in Greensboro working with Middle School students on Economics for Success.
Nadia is the daughter of Jonathan and Jaleh Estes and one of four siblings, her sister Tahirih is the oldest, and has two younger brothers, Jordan and Gabriel.
Nadia comes from a multicultural family that taught her to embrace diversity and love all mankind. She believes in servant leadership and beginning each day with the end in mind, to inspire passion and purpose for every day both for herself and those around her.
