We have been bookmarking and reading all of the blog posts, flickr photos and videos about Ignite Raleigh around the web. The posts have been positive, covering from how much fun you had, reviews of presentations and how it could have been even better. Overall the general sense was that Ignite Raleigh “Killed It” and that means if you attended, volunteered or presented you “Killed it”...

Thanks again to all the presenters at Ignite Raleigh for subjecting themselves to the harsh conditions of the Ignite requirements. 5 minutes. 20 slides. And autoadvancing slides every 15 seconds. And if you go over time in Raleigh, you get RickRolled. We only had one presenter get RickRolled, but there were rumors that it was intentional, since no one went over all night and Zach wanted to dance.

Tomorrow is Ignite Raleigh and we just wanted to run down some details about the event to make sure everything runs smoothly and people know what to expect from this event. We just confirmed the date and location for Ignite Raleigh and wanted to announce it as soon as we could. Ignite Raleigh will be held on Wednesday, August 5 at the Lincoln Theatre, Raleigh NC.
Ignite events were originally conceived as technology variety shows, but they have grown into much more than that. Ignite is about ideas. Ideas can change the world. And it takes less than five minutes to spread one.

As you know we’re kicking off the planning process for Ignite Raleigh and so far the feedback has been great. A few people are already planning to fly to Raleigh for the event and we’ve found out via twitter that Brady Forrest, the co-founder of Ignite is from NC and he seems pretty excited about Raleigh hosting an Ignite. I think this means that our first Ignite has to rock.
